About our Evacuation & Airline Chairs

Evacuation chairs move people who cannot use stairs or walk long distances during an emergency, and the Junkin JSA-800 line is engineered for the tight hallways, stairwells, and aircraft aisles where that work happens. The base JSA-800 folds to a compact 22-by-18-inch footprint, weighs about 20 pounds, and carries up to 800 pounds, with front casters and rear runners that let one or two attendants bring a seated person down a staircase in a controlled manner.

Each model adds features for a particular setting. The JSA-800-W has four wheels for rolling across long corridors; the JSA-800-EH adds extension handles that give attendants better leverage on stairs; and the JSA-800-EHW combines both. The JSA-800-CON is a narrow chair sized for airline and transit use, and the JSA-800-CS confined-space chair, at under 15 inches wide, is built for industrial plants, ships, and other spaces where a standard chair cannot pass. A vinyl storage bag (JSA-800-B) protects any chair in the series while it is stored or transported.

Junkin evacuation chairs are made in Louisville, Kentucky, from aluminum frames with vinyl seating and patient restraint straps, and they ship via Freight, UPS or FedEx. They are a practical part of an emergency egress plan for offices, schools, hospitals, hotels, aircraft, and industrial facilities.
